One of the greatest English scientists Isaac Newton was born on December 25, 1642. He was born three months after the death of his father. When Newton was three, his mother remarried and went to live with her new husband, leaving her son in the care of his grandmother. This event left a mark on the soul of Newton. So, he (had) never married and devoted his whole life to science.
After the school, Newton studied mathematics at Cambridge university and received his degree in 1665. Then the university was closed and Newton went home for eighteen months. It was most important period in his life when he made his three great discoveries. Newton developed a mathematical method which is known as the Binomial Theorem and also differential and integral calculuses. Moreover, he discovered the nature of white light and the law of gravitation. These discoveries are still important for the modern science. Speaking about white color, Newton had always been interested in the problems of light. Many people saw colors of a rainbow but only Newton showed that white light consists of all these colors. As for gravitation, once he sat at the garden and his attention was drawn by the fall of an apple. Many people had seen such an usual thing before, but only Newton began wondering what force made the apple fall. Then Isaac explained three basic laws of motion the law of gravitation. Besides, he invented a reflecting telescope, that was very small in diameter but magnified objects to forty diameters. This invention is still used by scientists nowadays.
All in all, Isaac Newton’s calculations changed the way people understood the Universe. No one had been able to explain why the planets stayed in their orbits and what held them up. Before Newton was born it was thought that the planets were held in place by an invisible shield. Isaac proved that they were held in place by the sun’s gravity. He also showed that the force of gravity was affected by distance and by mass. Furthermore, Isaac Newton was the first who discovered the laws of gravitation and the laws of motion. He also established a new field in mathematics. His work has greatly contributed in the areas of science and mathematics making him one of the most unique scientists in the world history.
