The Job Interview

A job interview is your opportunity to present your talents to a prospective employer. During the interview, an employer judges your qualifications, appearance, and general fitness for the job opening. It is your opportunity to convince the employer that you can make a real contribution.

Equally important, the interview gives you a chance to evaluate the job, the employer, and the company. The interview helps you decide if the job meets your career needs and interests and whether the employer is the kind you want to work for.

Before each interview, though, you should act as if the job you are applying for is the one you want – because it may be. To present your qualifications most  advantageously, you have to prepare. You should have the needed papers ready and the necessary information about yourself memorized. And you should know how to act at the interview to make it an opportunity to “sell” your skills.

1. What   is a job interview for?

It is for presenting my talents to a prospective employer.

2. What does an employer do during the interview?

During the interview, an employer judges my qualifications, appearance, and general fitness for the job opening.

3. What must you do to present your qualification most advantageously?

To present my qualifications most  advantageously, I have to prepare. I should have the needed papers ready and the necessary information about myself memorized.

4. Why should you know to act at the interview?

I should know how to act at the interview to make it an opportunity to “sell” my skills.

 

Собеседование

Собеседование это ваша возможность показать свои таланты потенциальному работодателю. Во время интервью, работодатель оценивает вашу квалификацию, внешний вид и общую подготовку для вакансии. Это ваша возможность убедить работодателя, что вы можете внести реальный вклад. 

 И что не менее  важно, интервью дает вам возможность  оценить работу, работодателя, и  компанию. Интервью поможет вам  решить, соответствует ли работа  вашим карьерным потребностям и интересам и является ли работодатель именно тем, на кого вы хотите работать.

Перед каждым интервью, вы должны вести себя так, как если бы работа, на которую вы претендуете именно та, что вам хочется - потому что это может оказаться правдой. Чтобы представить свою квалификацию весьма успешно, вы должны подготовиться. Вы должны иметь необходимые документы и помнить необходимые данные о себе. И вы должны знать, как действовать во время интервью, чтобы "продать" свои умения.

II. Напишите ответы  на вопросы, которые Вам могут  задать во время собеседования

1. What type of position are you interested in?

I'm interested in a high administration position.

2. What kind of training have you had?

I graduated from the university.

3. Why do you want to work for this company?

 

 I’m impressed with your company reputation in the field. And I believe that my skills will improve the development of your company.

4. What do you know about our company?

 

 After following your firm’s progress for the last 3 years, I am convinced that your company is one of the market leaders and I would like to be part of the team.

5. Do you prefer working by yourself or in team?

 

 I prefer working on my own more than working with others.

 

III. Переведите  предложения на русский язык.

a)

1. Why don’t you go to Mr. Brown for advice? He would tell you what to do, he would help you to make the necessary arrangements.

1. Почему ты не пришел  к нам вчера? Тебе бы понравился  рассказ Пети о его поездке .

Это было очень мудрым вашим решением оставить сообщение для него. Не было бы никакого смысла его ждать.

в)

1. Я бы сказал вам  все честно, но вы были в  командировке, мальчик сказал своему  дяде.

2 . Приходите ко мне  сегодня днем. Погода замечательная. Мы могли бы пойти погулять. Вы бы получили удовольствие от прогулки в лесу, я уверен.

3 . Петя - хороший оратор. Он бы не ушел от темы, но в этот раз его все время прерывали, и это в результате сделало его речь слишком длинной.

4 . Мальчик был очень  активным. Единственное, что можно  было сделать - это похвалить его.

5 . " Можете ли вы  подождать еще немного дольше? " Джек спросил менеджера. "Я знаю, мой друг был бы заинтересован в том, чтобы получить эту работу"

8. Why do you want to stay with your relatives? I would prefer spending a holiday at the seaside.
9. “The children have already been out of sight for half and hour,” said the man. “I’m afraid it would be impossible for your to reach them now.
