Sally was a student of an art college and, like most students, she did not have much money. It was going to be her mother's birthday soon, and she wondered what she could buy her as a present that could be nice and useful but not too expensive.

At lunch time one day, a week before her mother's birthday, she decided to have a quick sandwich and a cup of coffee instead of her usual meal in the college hall, and then go shopping near her college to try and find a nice present for her mother.

Half an hour later, she came across a shop that was selling umbrellas cheap, and decided that one of those would solve her problem, since her mother had lost hers. She chose a black umbrella because you can carry that with clothes of any colour.

On her way home she felt hungry and went to the buffet leaving her umbrella behind in the compartment of the train. When she came back it had gone. Sally burst into tears when she saw that the umbrella was no longer there. The other three passengers felt sorry for her when she explained what had happened and asked for her mother's address in order to be able to send it to her in case someone had taken it by mistake and brought it back after Sally had got out of the train.

The next week, Sally heard from her mother. Her letter said, "Thank you very much for your lovely presents, but why did you send me three black umbrellas?"

                                     ИНСТРУКЦИЯ ПО ПРОВЕДЕНИЮ

КОНТРОЛЬНОЙ РАБОТЫ ПО АНГЛИЙСКОМУ ЯЗЫКУ В 8 КЛАССЕ

( 2012-2013 учебный год)

 

Срок проведения: май 2013 года.

 

Цель проведения: определить уровень развития навыков и умений понимать основное содержание услышанного и прочитанного текста, оперирования грамматическим и лексическим материалом, входящим в содержание обучения на этапе 8 класса.

 

Содержание контрольной  работы отражает специфику заданий  УМК "Enjoy English" и базируется на материале, изучаемом в течение учебного года. Перед проведением контрольной работы рекомендуется организовать повторение соответствующего материала.

Контрольная работа выполняется  в течение 1 академического часа. Текст для аудирования читаются учителем дважды четко, в нормальном темпе, без специального выделения отдельных слов или частей фразы. После первого прочтения текстов обучающимся дается 15 секунд для первичного выполнения задания.

Первые 4 задания представляют собой задания базового уровня. Каждый грамматически  верно выполненный пункт каждого из заданий оценивается в 1 балл. Полностью верное их выполнение обеспечивает обучающемуся  отметку "4". Максимальное количество баллов, которое ученик может получить за выполнение заданий базового уровня – 23. Следовательно, перевод балльной оценки в отметку при выполнении заданий только базового уровня выглядит следующим образом:

Отметка "4" ставится при 23-20 баллах.

Отметка "3" ставится при 19-16 баллах.

В остальных случаях  ставится отметка "2".

Успешность выполнения задания № 5 (со звездочкой) свидетельствует  об освоении материала на уровне, превышающем  базовый (повышенном). Оно носит продуктивный характер, не содержит готовых образцов выполнения и базируется на понимании школьниками прежде всего коммуникативной значимости необходимого материала "Conditional II". Каждое полное, грамматически верно оформленное предложение в задании оценивается 2 баллами. Максимальное количество баллов за задание – 8. Шкала перевода балльной оценки в отметку за всю контрольную работу при наличии 25% и больше правильно выполненных пунктов  задания повышенного уровня следующая: 

Отметка "5" ставится при 31-27 баллах.

Отметка "4" ставится при 26-22 баллах.

Отметка "3" ставится при 21-17 баллах.

В остальных случаях ставится отметка "2".

Перед началом работы педагог должен убедиться в правильности понимания заданий всеми обучающимися. A Tragedy in the Air

The flight from London to South Africa didn't begin at 9 o'clock. It was a little delayed. The plane belonged to the British Airways. It was a big plane with four engines.

At ten o'clock we started. I sat next to Michael. He is a former pilot but now he works as a lawyer. Michael is my permanent companion in my journeys to Africa. This trip promised to be very interesting. It included our visits to several villages situated in the South of the continent. The trip could offer many unusual things.

At eleven o'clock when we were over the British Channel Michael told me he didn't like the sound of the engine. Soon the stewardess said that something was not quite right with the engine again. She told us it wasn't very important as there three good engines on the plane and we were "OK".

However when we got near Africa, the passengers were telling each other that the second and the third engines didn't work. We all felt rather bad. At that time we were flying over the land of Africa with its wild animals: tigers, lions, snakes. We were thinking about death.

Suddenly we heard the captain's voice on the plane radio: "Ladies and gentlemen, I have bad news for you."

I saw that many faces became white. Some people began crying. I felt terrible. The captain continued in a loud voice: "I have to inform you that England has lost her last football match against Scotland!".
