Королева виктория

Victoria ( 24 May 1819 –  22 January 1901) was the Queen regnant of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland from 20 June 1837, and the first Empress of India of the British Raj from 1 May 1876, until her death. Her reign as the Queen lasted 63 years and 7 months, her reign is the longest of any female monarch in history.

The time of her reign is known as the Victorian era, a period of industrial, cultural, political, scientific, and military progress within the United Kingdom. Victoria's reign was marked by a great expansion of the British Empire. During this period, it reached its zenith and became the foremost global power of the time. She was the last British monarch of the House of Hanover.

Victoria was born in Kensington Palace in 1819. At the time of her birth, her grandfather, George III, was on the throne, but his three eldest sons, had no surviving legitimate children. Victoria later described her childhood as "rather melancholy". Victoria's mother was extremely protective of the princess, who was raised in near isolation under the elaborate set of rules and protocols.

On 24 May 1837 Victoria turned 18, and in June she became Queen of the United Kingdom.

Princess Victoria first met her future husband, her first cousin Prince Albert when she was just seventeen in 1836. However according to her diary, she enjoyed his company from the beginning. They were married on 10 February 1840, in the Chapel Royal of St. James's Palace, London. Albert became not only the Queen's companion, but an important political advisor. They had nine children and the marriage was rather successful. The Prince Consort died of typhoid fever on 14 December 1861, due to the primitive sanitary conditions at Windsor Castle. His death devastated Victoria, who was still affected by the death of her mother in March of that year.She entered a state of mourning and wore black for the remainder of her life. She avoided public appearances, and rarely set foot in London in the following years. Her seclusion earned her the name "Widow of Windsor."

Queen Victoria's reign marked the gradual establishment of a modern constitutional monarchy. A series of legal reforms saw the House of Commons' power increase, at the expense of the House of Lords and the monarchy, with the monarch's role becoming gradually more symbolic. Victoria's reign created for Britain the concept of the "family monarchy" with which the burgeoning middle classes could identify.

Ее царствование, как королевы длилась 63 лет и 7 месяцев, дольше, чем царствование любого другого британского монарха , и ее царствование длиннее любого монарха-женщины в истории.  
 
Время ее правления называют викторианской эпохой, периодом промышленного, культурного, политического, научного и военного прогресса  Объединенного Королевства. Её правление было отмечено большим расширением Британской империи. В течение этого периода она достигла своего зенита и стала передовой мировой силой того времени. Она организовала браки ее 9 детей и 42 внуков  по всему континенту, связав Европу  и получила  прозвище "бабушка Европы". Она была последним британским монархом дома Ганноверов.  
 
Виктория родилась в Кенсингтонском дворце в 1819 году. На момент ее рождения, ее дед, Георг III, был на престоле, а трое его старших сыновей, после не имели законных выживших детей.  Виктория позже описала свое детство как достаточно  грустое. Мать Виктории проявляла излишнюю опеку над принцессой, которая воспитывалась в изоляции, с подробным набором правил и протоколов.  
 
На 24 мая 1837 Виктории исполнилось 18 лет, а в июне она стала королевой Соединенного Королевства.  
 
Принцесса Виктория впервые встретила своего будущего мужа, ее двоюродный брата принца Альберта, когда ей было всего 17, в 1836 году. Некоторые авторы писали, что она первоначально нашла Альберта довольно скучным. Однако, согласно ее дневнику, ей изначально нравилась его компания. Они  поженились 10 февраля 1840, в часовне королевского дворца Сент-Джеймс в Лондоне. Альберт стал не только спутником королевы, но и важным политическим советником. Они имели девять детей, и брак был довольно успешным. Принц-консорт умер от брюшного тифа 14 декабря 1861, из-за примитивных санитарно-гигиенических условий в Виндзорском замке. Его смерть опустошила Викторию, которая все еще страдала от смерти своей матери марте того же года.  Она надела траур и носила черные одежды всю оставшуюся часть своей жизни. Она избегала публичных выступлений, и редко бывала в Лондоне, в последующие годы. Ее уединение дало ей имя "Вдова Виндзор".  
 
Царствование Королевы Виктории отмечено постепенным созданием современной конституционной монархии. Ряд правовых реформ увидела Палата общин, которые привели к увеличению ее влияния, за счет Палаты лордов и монархии, а роль монарха становится постепенно более символической. Царствование Виктории создало для Англии понятие "семейная монархия", с которым идентифицировался  растущий средний класс. 

Victoria (Alexandrina Victoria) was born on the 24 May 1819. Queen Victoria was a strong queen. You can see her monument in front of the Buckingham Palace. Queen Victoria ascended the throne in 1837 and reigned until her death in 1901. She ruled for the longest period in the English history, for 64 years. Victoria married a German, Prince Albert, but he died at the age of 42 in 1861. That was a great tragedy for Queen Victoria. She left London and never lived in the city where she had been so happy with her husband and nine children (5 daughters and 4 sons). But there are places in London that reminds us of their love. One of them is the Royal Albert Hall - a very large concert hall where the best musicians of the world perform classical music. In front of the Albert Hall there is a monument to Prince Albert built by Queen Victoria. Another place is the Victoria and Albert Museum (V&A) with its rich collections of paintings and other works of art. The family life of Queen Victoria touched people's hearts. But this is not only reason why Queen Victoria became very popular. During her reign Britain became a rich industrial country with a developed trade, an empire with a lot of colonies.

Though Victoria ascended the throne at a time when the United Kingdom was already an established constitutional monarchy in which the king or queen held few political powers, she still served as a very important symbolic figure of her time. The Victorian era represented the height of the Industrial Revolution, a period of significant social, economic, and technological progress in the United Kingdom. Victoria's reign was marked by a great expansion of the British Empire; during this period it reached its zenith, becoming the foremost global power of the time.
