Irina Slyckaya

Irina Slyckaya was born on February 9, 1979 in Moscow. Her father was engineer and mother was a teacher. She is a honorable sport  master, four times Russian champion, seven times Europe champion, two times Olympic priser.

Irina graduated from Moscow state Academy of Physical culture in 2000. She is awarded with order of Friendship in 2003 and order of honor in 2007.

Irina married. Her husband is Sergey Miheev. He is children coach. Her son Artem was born in November 2007 and her daughter Barbara was born on October 2010.

Her hobby is snowboarding. She used to gather toys. She is still collecting elephants.

Irina was ill. Her mother took her in figure skating circle, where her coach was Janna Gromova.

Irina began to make progress. She was in listed in the Russian national team in 1993. Irina won Russian Junior Championship and was third in world Junior Championship. She won Junior Championship in 1995.

She became really famous in 1996, when she won Europe championship in Sofia and was the Bronze medalist in world championship.

She won world championship in Nagano. She was awarded with the medal ‘’honest victory’’.

Her doctor prohibited her to skate, but Irina decided to continue her career.

She was the Bronze medalist in the Olympic Games in Turin, where was only Russian athlete. After that, she ended her sport career. Irina tried to work on TV, theatre and cinema.
