This is why we have been surprised to receive your claim for delayed delivery against the 3rd Quarter 20… , particularly considering the adverse circumstances which were absolutely beyond our control, and which we summarize as follows:
— Opening of L/C. It was not before the 16th September, 20… that we had received advice from our Bankers. (Encl. No.1)
- Increase of L/C No.: On 28/10/20…, we sent you a fax asking for an increase of this L/C but due to a mistake on your part, the increase was wrongly made against L/C No which does not concern us but another exporter. Despite our subsequent reminders by telexes sent by us and by our Bankers, it was only on 3/12/20… that we received your telex No. expressing excuses for the said mistake and advising us that requested increase was expected within a week. At last, it reached us on 10/12/20…, i. e. after a delay of 43 days from the date of our initial request. During all this period, we had incurred storage expenses while the goods were lying in the Custom area. (Encl. Nos 5, 6, 6а, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11 & 12).
